From the hills of Holmes County, near Berlin, Ohio, we share our recipes and love for cooking and serving. My name is Dorothy Detweiler. I have three wonderful sons: Sandy (age 8), Isaiah (age 7), and Milo (age 5). They like to help in the kitchen and are developing great cooking skills. On October 6, 2004, our dear husband and daddy (Daryl) passed away. We miss him greatly. Daryl was a great cook. He loved grilling, cooking seafood and making Mexican meals. Steaks, ribs, and baked beans were some of his specialties. When we had brunch he always made sausage gravy.

Since January 2006, we have been offering dinners in our home to guests who stay at The Garden Gate Getaway (www.garden-gate.com) In the summertime the boys offer free pony rides with their pony, named Chocolate. We hope you enjoy our cookbook and the artwork done by the boys.
