From April through October, I work at Schrock's Amish Farm baking cookies in the old farm house kitchen. There are thousands of people going through this house with a tour guide showing them around and telling them about the Amish ways. They usually end up in the kitchen where they smell freshly baked cookies and breads and sometimes pies. Every season around 26 thousand dozen cookies are baked and sold here. We like to share recipes with people coming through the house. Marie bakes cookies the days I'm not there. She also plants the garden and brings in lots of fresh vegetable during summer months to be canned. People can get them by donation. Andy brings in brown eggs from the chicken coop, which are used to bake the cookies. In the winter months he sells them to the quilt ladies.

There are lots of baby goats and lambs born every spring. People can go out in the petting area to pet them. We also have llamas, donkeys, horses, pigs, pheasants, rabbits and kittens on the farm. There are two nice ponds with fish and ducks that people feed. There are also buggy rides given by Amish gentlemen Dan, Roy, John and Jake. The horses' names are Blue, Shirley, Leroy and Babe. They go on a 10 minute ride around the farm.

We have a train that goes back into the woods through a tunnel about a mile long ride. Come take a ride, you'll love it. The drivers are Dan, John and Andy. Our tour guides' names are Ed, Emily, Irene, Arlene and Jessica. They are very informative and people enjoy them very much.

The Gate House clerks are Sally, Emily, Rosanna, Sharla and Angela. They always have fresh popcorn ready and dip out Velvet Ice Cream for people. They inform people what's available around the farm. We also have Gramma Fannie's Quilt Shop with over 2,000 bolts of fabric they use to make beautiful quilts and wall hangings. The ladies' names are Lydiann, Effie, Ada, Malinda, Rosie, Brenda and Ella. Rosie gives quilting lessons.

Also, there is a three-story Christmas store with over 200 decorated trees and hundreds of ornaments. It's Ohio's largest year-round Christmas store.
There's a large furniture store in the top part of the large red barn where they make beautiful hutches, tables and chairs, etc. The Galleria has two different stores: Pitty Pat's Porch and Good Old Days. They sell beautiful gift items. There's an Antique Mall and an Amish Craft Mall.

We have several gardening ladies. Sharon, Katie, Maria and Missy do a great job of planting  nice flower beds and mowing grass. Noah and Steve are the maintenance workers. Whenever there's a problem, they get called. It can be anything from putting train track down to fixing toilet drains to roof top leaks.

Joan and Andy manage the farm and every Saturday at 2, Joan gives a speech about her life in Amish country. She carries a lot of weight on her shoulders and decides whether or not we get a pay check! They also earn great respect by hiring people who have afflictions. God bless them and also all the employees who show a lot of loving care.
