For Me, A dream has come true. It has been in the back of my mind for a long time to get our family recipes all in one book, especially so since the granddaughters are getting married and need recipes. Our daughters so kindly helped me or I'd never have gotten it accomplished. A special thank-you to my daughters and granddaughters for their encouragement and help in handing in their favorite recipes.

My dear husband Delbert also deserves credit. With six daughters to teach how to cook and bake, all mothers know there are plenty of flops! All six worked at factories and at times served as a maud. They liked to try new recipes, so many recipes were tried out. Some were not to our liking and were made only once! Delbert was so very patient and encouraging through the girls' learning years. Thanks to his mother for teaching him to be thankful for the food that's prepared and not be a complaining, picky eater.

One tradition that my family remembers is that Saturday dinners without freshly baked custard pie, made by using my mother's recipe, were very few. Some of these recipes were ones our mothers, Mrs Roman (Mattie) Troyer and Mrs Noah (Lovina) Miller, used. We have many fond memories of eating at their table. We hope this cookbook can be enjoyed and will prove useful to others.
