This book is being made in memory of our mother and grandmother, Lizzie (Adam) Miller, age 97. She went to her eternal reward April 11, 2004, Easter Sunday. She fell and broke her hip then had surgery and was at Walnut Hills for therapy. Nine Days after she broke her hip, she died of congestive heart failure.

She was a good cook and collected many recipes. Some are very old and some are new, more modern, put in by the children and grandchildren. All are simple and easy to make. I think we all inherited the knack for good cooking. There were 4 girls and 2 boys in the family. Our mother made many a meal in her lifetime.

She was married to Adam H. Miller. He died April 30, 1984, age 77. Dad died at the Jonas D.J Miller residence, right after communion church as they started for home. Our parents were married 55 years, 8 months.

The children are Saloma married to Noah Raber (deceased), Jonas married Elizbeth Bowman, Amanda (deceased) married Emanuel Schlabach, Annie married Andy E Raber, Emanuel married Verna Schlabach and Fannie married Emanuel H Yoder.

There were 43 living grandchildren, 1 deceased, and 123 great grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren at the time of mother's death.

We have a lot of precious memories being raised on a farm. The farm was later taken over by a son, Emanuel and Verna. At the present, it is owned by a grandson, Ervin and Freda Miller.
