To introduce myself-I'm Naomi, wife of John L. Miller. We have one little boy, age 3 months, named Duane. By the time this cookbook is in print, he'll probably be eating most anything.

In this book you'll find some old Beachy favorites. Even some of Grandma Sarah's original recipes. Sarah, wife of Menno Beachy, was my great-grandmother. Noah and Emma Beachy are my grandparents. Levi and Martha (Beachy) Miller are my parents. So, that's how we're related to the Beachys.

You'll find the cabbage recipe, the kind that we had at our wedding, on April 4, 2002, in this book. Also, the famous prune whip that some uncles always lick their lips for at the Christmas gatherings. You will also find Mom's own bread recipe that's so good with some fresh strawberry jam. And come Christmastime, you'll want to try the sour cream cookies that are so delicious if made just right.

Great-aunt Gertie was kind enough to share some memories that she has from when she was a little girl. Thanks, Gertie. I have scattered those throughout the cookbook.
