Favorite recipes are really so much more fun when shared with family and friends, so feel free to pass these along to people you meet. A good cook is always looking for a way to make something which is good even better. So really there is never a way to know if you have the best recipe. Just when we think we have made something more delicious than before we might add a little different spice. And to our delight the taste is even better.

Life is kind of like that. There are so many things we can do to make it better. When I think about what adds spice to our lives many things come to mind. Good friends, good food, good fellowship. But it is so much more. Quiet times with my Saviour in the morning when the house is still in sleepy land. A good cup of coffee at the kitchen table while watching the birds coming to the feeder, with the snow softly falling. Those first flowers peeking through the snow in early spring. A baby sleeping in a sleeping daddy's arms. A young child coming to us and telling us they love us just the way we are. They don't see our many imperfections.

Adding spice to other people's lives is fun too. Some examples are sharing cookies with your neighbors; taking chicken noodle soup to an elderly person in town who has been sick or lonely; of calling a young mother with her hands full with little one and telling her you will bring in supper. What a treat! It is the little things in life that matter, and they certainly do add spice to our lives, and the possibilities for our future are endless. I'm trusting you will find the selected poems in my cookbook to be an inspiration to you.
