Recipe - Chicken Salad

2 cups - chopped cooked chicken breast
1/2 cup - celery
2 tbsp - sugar
1 tbsp - mustard
mayonnaise

Chop chicken to your liking. Add celery and mix. Stir in mustard and sugar. Add enough mayonnaise to moisten salad. Refrigerate until serving. Great as a sandwich or as a salad on lettuce.

Recipe - Vegetable Pizza
Our Price:  

2 tubes - crescent rolls
2 (8 oz) pkg - cream cheese
1/2 cup - mayonnaise
1/2 pk - hidden valley ranch dressing (dry dressing mix)

Pat crescent rolls into a 10x15 jelly roll pan and bake at 375 for 8-10 minutes. Beat rest of ingredients together and spread on the cooled crust. Chop up broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, green peppers or any combination of vegetables that you desire and sprinkle on top of the cream cheese mixture. Sprinkle grated cheddar cheese on top of the vegetables and pat down so it stays on the cream cheese mix. Refrigerate for a couple hours and cut into small pieces.

Recipe - Taco Salad
Our Price:  

1 lb - hamburger
1 head - lettuce
1 - tomato (chopped)
1 can - kidney beans (drained)
12.5 oz - nacho cheese doritos (crushed)
1 pkg - taco seasoning
2 tbsp - water
1 sm - onion (diced)
1 - green pepper (diced)
1 bag - shredded mild cheddar cheese

Dressing:
1 cup - oil
3/4 cup - sugar
1/3 cup - ketchup
1/4 cup - vinegar
1 tbsp - worchestershire sauce

Blend together in food processor or mixer till smooth. Fry hamburger (drain if needed). Add seasoning and water, stir to combine. When you have the onion, tomato, and green pepper chopped, add the meat along with the beans. Stir to combine. Place in container until ready to assemble salad for serving. Mix all ingredients, lettuce and dressing together and stir till evenly coated. Enjoy!

Recipe - Baked German Potato Salad
Our Price:  

5 lbs - red potatoes
1 cup - thinly sliced celery or 1/4 tsp celery seed
2 tbsp - flour
3/4 tsp - dry mustard
1/2 cup - water
2 - grated carrots
1/2 lb - bacon, plus drippings
1 cup - chopped onion
1 cup - sugar
1 tsp - salt
1 cup - vinegar
2 tbsp - dried parsley

Boil potatoes iin jackets until done. Do not over cook. Cool and peel, slice into at least 1/4" slices. Cook bacon until crisp and drain all except 1/2 cup drippings. To the 1/2 cup drippings, add celery and onions, stirring constantly and cook until tender. Combine sugar, flour, salt, dry mustard and stir in vinegar and water. Cook until thick and pour over potatoes, parsley and grated carrots which have been placed in a 9" x 13" pan. Cover with foil and bake at 350° for 30 minutes, or if dish has been refrigerated, bake 45 minutes to 1 hour. Can be made ahead and the flavor is improved. Serves 15.

Recipe - NAPA Cabbage Salad

2 bunches - napa cabbage
8 - green onions and tips
1 stick - butter
2 pkg - ramen noodles (without seasoning packet)
1/2 cup - sesame seeds
1 sm pkg - sliced almonds

Dressing:
1 cup - oil
1/2 cup - vinegar
1 cup - sugar
2 tsp - soy sauce

Remove though outer leaves from cabbage and chop fine. Chop green onions and tips. Mix these two ingredients together. Saute butter and ramen noodles until brown (crumble ramen noodles before sauteing). Add sesame seeds and almonds and saute a few minutes longer, then cool.
Dressing: Mix in blender oil, sugar, vinegar, and soy sauce.
Mix everything together just before serving.

Recipe - Potato Salad

12 - eggs
1/2 cup - celery
3 qt - potatoes

Sauce:

3 cups - miracle whip
1/4 cup - vinegar
2 tbsp - mustard
2 cups - sugar, scant
1 1/2 tbsp - salt

Cook eggs and potatoes and dice when cooled. Mix sauce and pour over potatoes and eggs. Cut up celery and stir in. Makes an ice cream pail full.

Peel cooked potatoes and eggs and put through salad master. Add your dressing and serve.

1/2 cup - salad dressing

1 tbsp - salt

1/4 cup - milk

Put potatoes and eggs through salad master, add onions and celery. Put together the rest of the ingredients in a mixing bowl. Add to potatoes and eggs. Has a better flavor if put together the day before.

1 pkg - taco flavored chips
1 lb - hamburger
1 sm - can kidney beans
4 med - tomtatoes, diced
1 pkg - taco seasoning

Dressing

8 oz - french dressing
1/3 cup - sugar
1 tbsp - taco seasoning
1 tbsp - taco sauce

Brown hamburger, add taco seasoning, reserve 1 tbsp for dressing. Layer salad ingredients in bowl, starting with lettuce and ending with cheese. Cover and refrigerate.

Dressing

Recipe - Broccoli Salad

1 - head broccoli, cut up
1 med - onion, diced
2 cups - shredded cheddar cheese
1 - head cauliflower, cut up
6-12 - strips bacon, fried and crumbled

Sauce

3/4 cup - sour cream
3/4 cup - mayonnaise
1/2 cup - sugar
1/4 tsp - salt

Mix sauce ingredients real well. Pour over broccoli mixture. Can be made a day ahead.

Recipe - Dandelion Salad

4 cups - dandelion
3 slices - bacon
3 - eggs, hard-boiled

Dressing

2 tbsp - flour
2 tbsp - sugar
1 1/2 cups - water or milk
1/2 tsp - salt
1/4 cup - vinegar

Wash and chop dandelion. Cut bacon in pieces and fry crisp. Mix dry ingredients together. Add liquids and pour into skillet. Cook until thickened. Cool slightly. Pour over dandelion. Add chopped eggs. Mix lightly. Dandelion: to remove bitter taste, soak in salt water for 30 minutes. Rich in protein, iron, calcium, phosphorus and insulin.

1 1/2 lbs - spiral macaroni, cooked
1/2 cup - chopped celery
1 sm - onion, minced
1 cup - ripe olives, optional
8 oz - diced ham
2 med - tomatoes
1 - green pepper, chopped

Mix all these ingredients together and add the following dressing.

Dressing

2 cups - miracle whip
1/4 cup- dijonnaise creamy blend mustard
1/2 cup - vinegar
1 tbsp - onion salt
1 cup - mayonnaise
1/4 cup - salad oil
salt to taste
1 1/2 cup - sugar
1/2 tbsp - celery seed

Mix well and pour over pasta and toss till it is mixed well.

1 1/2 lbs - pasta
1-2 cups - cheddar cheese
2 med - tomatoes
1 can - black olives
3 oz - ham
1/2 cup - celery
1 - green pepper

Dressing

3 cups - mayonnaise
3/4 cup - olive oil
1/2 cup - apple cider vinegar
1 tbsp - onion salt
1/4 cup - brown spicy mustard
1/2 tsp - salt
1 1/2 cups - sugar
1/2 tbsp - celery seed

Mix dressing ingredients well. Cook pasta till done. Rinse and drain with cold water. Add rest of ingredients. Pour dressing over all and mix well.

Recipe - Peach Salad

First Layer:
1 - 3 oz peach jello

Second Layer:
1 envelope - unflavored gelatin
1 cup - half and half
1/2 cup - chopped walnuts
1 - 8 oz cream cheese
1/2 cup - cold water
1 cup - sugar
1 tsp - vanilla

Third Layer:
2 - 3 oz pkg peach jello
1 lb - can peaches (reserve liqud)
2 cups - hot water and peach juice mixture (use all peach juice and add water to make 2 cups)

First Layer: Prepare jello according to directions. Pour into 9" x 13" pan and chill till set.

Second Layer: Soften gelatin in water, set aside. Heat, but don't boil the half and half and sugar, stir into gelatin mixture to dissolve gelatin. Add nuts, vanilla and cream cheese. Stir till smooth and pour over first layer. Chill till set.

Third Layer: Place peaches on top of second layer. Dissolve jello in water-juice mixture. Pour over peaches. Chill till set. Cut into squares and serve. Yields 24 squares.

Recipe - Lime Salad

2 cups - flour
1/2 cup - walnuts
1/2 cup - brown sugar
1/2 cup - butter
1 can - pineapple
8 oz - cream cheese
1 1/4 cups - riches topping
1 pkg - lime or orange jello
1 cup - sugar

Mix first 4 ingredients. Put in oblong pan. Bake for 12-15 minutes. Cool. Drain pineappl into saucepan and bring to a boil. Dissolve jello into juice and cool. Cream cream cheese and sugar. Blend into jello. Chill. Whip riches topping and put on top of crust.

Recipe - Ribbon Salad
Our Price:  

1 - 6 oz pkg each of lemon, lime and cherry jello
3 cup - cold water
1/4 cup - miracle whip
2 cups - whipped topping
6 cups - boiling water
2 cups - miniature marshmallows
8 oz - philadelphia cream cheese, softened
1 can - crushed pineapple

Dissolve jello flavors seperately, using 2 cups boiling water for each. Stir marshmallow into lemon jello. Add 1 1/2 cups cold water to lime jello and pour into oblong pan. Chil until set. Add 1 1/2 cups cold water to cherryjello and set aside at room temperature. Then add cream cheese to lemon mixture, beat until blended. Chill until slightly thickened, then blend in miracle whip, whipped topping and pineapple. Chill until thickened then gently spoon over lime jello. Chill until set. Meanwhile chill cherry jello until slightly thickened then pour over lemon mixture. Chill until firm.

1 (10 oz) pkg - frozen peas, thawed
1/2 cup - green pepper, diced
2 cups - miracle whip
2 tbsp - white sugar
4 oz - shredded cheddar cheese

Chop lettuce and place in a 9X13 pan. Layer rest of ingredients in order given. Add sugar to miracle whip and spread over lettuce like frosting. Top with cheese. Cover and refrigerate 8-12 hours. Garnish with bacon and parsley.

1 can - yellow beans, drained
1 can - green beans, drained
1 can - red kidney beans, rinsed
sm sliced onion
3/4 cup - sugar
2/3 cup - vinegar
1/3 cup - salad oil
1 tsp - salt
1 tbsp - celery seed
1/2 tsp - pepper

Arrange beans and onion in bowl. Mix together res of ingredients and pour over beans. Allow to marinate overnight.

Recipe - Ramen Noodle Broccoli Salad

2 heads - broccoli (cut fine)
1 - red pepper, diced
1 - onion, chopped
1 cup - roasted/salted sunflower seeds
2 pkg - ramen noodles, chicken flavored

Save seasoning from noodles for dressing.

Dressing:
1 cup - oil
1 cup - white sugar
1/3 cup - red wine vinegar
2 pkg - chicken flavoring (from Ramen Noodles)

Do not add noodles until ready to serve.

4 lg - tomatoes, chopped
shredded cheddar cheese

french dressing

Put 1 pkg taco seasoning in hamburger before mixing in with rest of ingredients. Put remaining pkg of taco seasoning in dressing. Mix all together and serve immediately.

4 head - broccoli
2 head - cauliflower
2 lbs - bacon
2 lbs - shredded cheddar cheese

Dressing:
3 cups - miracle whip
1 tsp - salt
1 3/4 cup - sugar
3/4 pkg - hidden valley ranch dip mix
3 cups - sour cream

Chop broccoli and cauliflower into bite sized pieces, do not chop too fine! Fry bacon until crisp. Mix broccoli, cauliflower, bacon and cheese together. Mix dressing ingredients together until creamy. Just before serving pour dressing over broccoli mixture. This is a large batch, it will serve approximately 35.

Combine sugar, flour, egg yolk and milk in 1 qt sauce pan. Cook till thick, stirring constantly. Remove from stove, add mustard. Cool. Add miracle whip and salt. Enough dressing for 4 qt potato salad.

2 cups - buttermilk or sour cream
1 tsp - parsley flakes
1/2 tsp - onion salt

Mix all ingredients and shake in a jar. This shouldn't be put in a blender.

Recipe - Seasoned Croutons

2 tbsp - butter
1 tbsp - olive or vegetable oil
1/4 tsp - garlic powder
1/4 tsp - onion powder
1/4 tsp - dried oregano
1/4 tsp - dried basil
pinch of salt
6 slices - day old bread, cubed

In an ungreased 13x9x2 baking pan, combine the first seven ingredients. Place in a 300° oven until butter is melted. Remove from the oven; stir to combine. Add bread crumbs and toss to coat. Bake for 10-15 minutes or until lightly browned, stirring frequently. Cool. Store in refrigerator in an airtight container. Yield 3 cups.

Recipe - Creamy Jello Salad

3 (3 oz) boxes - jello (your favorite flavor)
1 (8 oz) - cream cheese, softened
1 tbsp - realemon juice
3/4 cup - water
1 (12 oz) - cool whip, more if you want it real fluffy
3/4 cup - sour cream (scant)

Prepare 1 box jello according to directions. Pour into tupperware or bowl and let set until firm. Prepare 2nd box jello with 3/4 cup hot water. Meanwhile cream together cream cheese, sour cream, lemon juice and cool whip. Mix well. Add jello when it is starting to set. Pour this 2nd layer on 1st layer. After 2nd layer has set, prepare remaining jello according to directions. Pour over top and let set.

Recipe - Grape Salad

1 (8 oz) - cream cheese
2 cups - sour cream
1/2 cup - brown sugar
1/2 tsp - vanilla

Blend the first three ingredients together until smooth. Add vanilla. Fold in grapes.

Recipe - Orange Sherbet Salad

2 lg boxes - orange jello
2 cups - boiling water
1 3/4 cup - cold water
1 pt - orange sherbet
2 cans - mandarin oranges
2 cups - cool whip

Dissolve jello in boiling water. Add cold water and let cool. Add sherbet, oranges and cool whip. Refrigerate.

Recipe - Cranberry Salad

1/2 lb - fresh cranberries, chopped
3 - apples, pared, cored and chopped fine
2 - oranges, chopped
1/2 cup - crushed pineapple
1 1/2 cups - sugar
1/4 cup - chopped pecans or walnuts
1 (3 oz) box - strawberry jello
1 cup - boiling water
1 cup - cold water

Mix the first six ingredients together. Dissolve jello in boiling water and then add cold water. When jello is cold then add salad mixture. Pour into a bowl and allow to congeal in refrigerator. Serves 6.

Recipe - Raw Cranberry Salad

1/2 pkg - cranberries
1 (3 oz) pkg - orange jello
1 (3 oz) pkg - cherry jello
2 whole - oranges
3 - tart apples
3 - stalks celery
1/2 cup - sugar
1 can - crushed pineapple

Dissolve jello in 2 cups boiling water. Grind cranberries, celery, oranges and apples together or use blender. If blended use 2 cups cold water with it. If ground add 2 cups cold water to jello, add pineappl and sugar.

Recipe - Orange Cream Fruit Salad

1 can - pineapple chunks
1 can - peach slices
2 cans - mandarin oranges
3 - bananas
1 pkg - instant vanilla pudding
1 1/2 cups - milk
2 oz - frozen orange juice
3/4 cup - sour cream

Drain the pineapple, peaches and oranges. Mix together well: milk, pudding and orange juice. Add sour cream and mix with fruit. Just before serving add the bananas.

Recipe - Jello Mold

4 boxes (3 oz) - jello, any flavor
4 cups - cold water
3 cups - boiling water
1 cup - powdered sugar
1 (8 oz) pkg - cream cheese
1 cup - (liquid) rich's topping

Beat rich's topping until stiff and set aside. Scald jello with hot water, then add cold water. Chill in mixing bowl. Cream together cream cheese and powdered sugar, then add beaten topping. Add chilled jello to this mixture. Pour into mold and let set. Serve with cottage cheese. Enough for 2 molds.

Recipe - Champagne Salad

8 oz - cream cheese, softened
3/4 cup - sugar
1 qt - frozen strawberries, drained
3 sliced - bananas
1 (13 oz) - crushed pineapples, drained
1 lg container - cool whip
1/2 cup - nuts, opt

Beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Add rest of ingredients. Spread in 13 x 9 glass pan. Cover and freeze. Remove from freezer 1 hour before serving. This is very refreshing served with a special breakfast.
