Recipe - Best Christmas Caramels
Our Price:  

3 cups - white sugar
3/4 cup - karo
3/4 cup - butter
1 pt - sweet cream
1/2 tsp - vanilla
1 cup - nuts

Place half of cream, karo and sugar in a pan and heat slowly. Stir constantly. When mixture is boiling hard, add the rest of the cream and butter slowly. Boil until candy makes a firm ball when tested in water. Put in long cake pan to cool. Wrap in wax paper or dip in sweet chocolate.

Recipe - Bird's Nest Treats

1/4 cup - butter or margarine
1/4 cup - creamy peanut butter
4 cups - chow mein noodles
4 1/2 cups - miniature marshmallows
1/4 cup - semi sweet chocolate chips
1 cup - jelly beans or candy eggs

In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and marshmallows until smooth, stirring occasionally. Add the peanut butter and chocolate chips; heat and stir for 2 minutes or until smooth. Remove from heat; stir in chow mein noodles until will coated. Divide into 12 mounds on a wax paper lined baking sheet. Using fingers, shape each into a nest; press an indentation in the center of nest. Fill each nest with 3 or 4 jelly beans or candy eggs. Cool. Store in an air tight container. Yield 1 dozen. Children enjoy these at Easter time.

Recipe - Butter Crunch Balls (candy)

3 cups - powdered sugar
1 cup - coconut
1 cup - melted oleo
5 cups - rice krispies
1 1/2 cups - peanut butter

Mix together sugar, peanut butter and oleo. Add cereal and coconut. Form into balls and dip in chocolate.

Recipe - Cappuccino Truffles
Our Price:  

1 tbsp - boiling water
2 tsp - instant coffee granules
2 1/2 tsp - cinnamon, divided
1/3 cup - heavy whipping cream
6 (1oz) squares - bittersweet chocolate, chopped
2 tbsp - butter, softened
3 tbsp - sugar

In a small bowl, combine the water, coffee and 1 tsp cinnamon, set aside. in a small saucepan, bring cream just to a boil. Remove from heat, whisk in chocolate and butter until smooth. Stir in coffee mixture. Press plastic wrap onto surface. Refrigerate for 1 hour or until easy to handle. In a small bowl, combine sugar and 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon. Shape chocolate into 1" balls, roll in cinnamon/sugar. Refrigerated for at least 2 hours or until firm. Yield:1 1/2 dozen.

Recipe - Caramel Corn

Pop enough popcorn to fill Tupperware fix and mix bowl.

Bring to a boil:

2 - sticks butter
1 cup - brown sugar
1 cup - white sugar
1/2 cup - karo

Boil for 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in 1 tsp soda. Pour popcorn in roaster and stir in caramel sauce. Bake in warm oven not over 250° for 1 hour. Stir every 15 minutes.

Recipe - Caramel Marshmallows

30 - caramels
1/2 cup - butter
rice krispies
1 can - eagle brand milk
1 pkg - large marshmallows

Melt caramels, eagle brand milk and butter in double boiler. Take a toothpick and put a marshmallow on, dip in caramel mixture then in rice krispies. Let toothpick in to take hold of when you want to eat them.

Recipe - Caramel Twists

2/3 cup - oleo
1 1/2 cups - brown sugar
1/4 cup - light corn syrup
1 cup - chopped nuts

Cook till it boils, then put in bottom of pans (add nuts after boiling). Put roll on top and set to rise. Then bake, let cool 5 minutes. Flip out on plate and you have your rolls ready to eat. No need to frost.

Recipe - Caramels

1 cup - corn syrup

Bring to a boil. Remove from heat

Add:
1 can - eagle brand milk

Bring to soft boil stage (240°). Remove from heat.

Add:
1/2 cup - finely chopped walnuts

Pour into greased cookie sheet. Cool. Cut into small pieces and wrap in waxed paper. Tip: I cook it with a heat saver on top of the burner, stirring constantly after adding the milk. Takes about 1/2 to 3/4 hour. Use a wooden spoon.

Recipe - Chocolate Drops

2 cups - sugar
1 cup - sweet cream

Boil to soft ball. Add flavoring and a pinch of cream of tartar before taking off of stove. Do not stir while cooking. Pour into large pan. Do not scrape sauce pan. Let cool. Stir until can be formed into balls. Dip into chocolate.

Recipe - Chocolate Scotcheroos

1 cup - sugar
1 cup - peanut butter
1 cup - karo
5 cups - rice krispies
1 cup - chocolate chips
12 oz - butterscotch chips

In heavy kettle, stir together sugar and karo. Turn burner to medium high heat and as soon as you see bubbles forming (boiling type) remove from heat and stir in peanut butter. When peanut butter is stirred through, stir in rice krispies. Turn out into buttered 9x13 pan.
Place chocolate and butterscotch chips into microwave safe bowl and heat for 45 seconds. Remove to stir. Return to microwave for an additional 30 seconds, remove and stir till smooth. Frost krispie mixture like a cake. Allow several hours for "chips" to set up or for faster setting, refrigerate. Cut into squares. Enjoy!!

Recipe - Christmas Eve Mice

24 - cream filled chocolate sandwich cookies
1 cup - semisweet chocolate chips
2 tsp - shortening
24 - red maraschino cherries with stems, well drained
24 - milk chocolate kisses
48 - sliced almonds
1 small tube - green decorative icing gel

Carefully twist cookies apart; set aside the halves with cream filling. Save plain halves for another use. In a microwave or heavy saucepan, melt chocolate chips and shortening, stir until smooth. Holding each cherry by the stem, dip in melted chocolate, then press onto the bottom of a chocolate kiss. Place on the cream filling of cookies, with cherry stem extending beyond cookie edge. For ears, place slivered almonds between the cherry and kiss. Refrigerate until set. With green gel, pipe holly leaves on the cream. With red gel, pipe berries between leaves and pipe eyes on each chocolate kiss. Note: You can use White Pearl Sprinkles for eyes and with a  toothpick put a dot of chocolate in the middle of the white pearl. Eyes look more real. Store in an airtight container at room temperature. They look so real!

Recipe - Cinnamon Candy Popcorn

8 qt - plain popcorn, lighty salted
9 oz - red hot cinnamon candies
1 cup - butter or oleo
1/2 cup - light corn syrup

Place popcorn in a large bowl and set aside. In a saucepan, combine oleo, corn syrup and candies. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Boil 5 minutes, then pour over popcorn mixing thoroughly. Turn into greased pans. Bake at 250° for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Remove from pans. Break apart and let cool.

Recipe - Cinnamon Popcorn

Recipe - Corn Flake Candy

1 cup - cream
2 cups - rice chex
2 cups - kix
1 cup - light karo
3 cups - corn flakes
2 cups - puffed rice
2 cups - chopped nuts, optional

Cook sugar, cream and karo to a soft ball stage. Let stand until it is partly cooled off. Then mix into cereals which you have ready and mixed in a large container. Press into buttered cake pan and cut into squares when cold.

Recipe - Crispy Caramel Corn

Recipe - Crockpot Candy

16 oz - salted peanuts or mixed nuts
16 oz - dry roasted peanuts
24 oz - bag semisweet chocolate chips
24 oz - white almonds (you can use white chocolate chips)
1 - german chocolate baking bar

Put all ingredients in the crock pot on low for 3 hours. Stir to blend. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto waxpaper.

Recipe - Date Balls

1/2 cup - butter
1/2 cup - nuts (chopped)
2 1/2 cups - rice crispy cereal
1 cup - pitted dates
1 cup - sugar
1 tsp - vanilla
2 tsp - salt
1 - egg

In a large saucepan mix together sugar, egg, dates, salt and butter. Cook over med heat until thick (8-10 min). Stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Add vanilla, cereal and nuts. Mix well and allow to cool slightly. Form into 1 in ball and roll in powdered sugar. Makes about 2 dozen. These freeze well.

Recipe - Easter Pretzel Nests
Our Price:  

1 lb - chocolate or white chocolate, chopped or use chocolate chips
1 1/2 cups - salted peanuts
4 cups - thin pretzel sticks, broken in 1 1/2" pieces

Line at least two baking sheets with waxed paper or parchment. Melt chocolate in microwave or put bowl with chocolate in another bowl with hot water and stir, but dont get any water in chocolate. Mix pretzels and nuts in large bowl and pour chocolate over it and stir until all is covered. Scoop out on pans and form nests. Press jelly beans, M&M's or candy Easter eggs in the nests. Let dry and put in airtight container. Or you can take two or three pretzels put them side by side on a pan with wax paper and put a dab of chocolate in the middle of them and place two or three M&M's  in the chocolate. Let dry and store in air tight container. Be creative! Try using rice krispies or some kind of cereal instead of pretzels.

Recipe - Fabulous Caramel Clusters

48 - caramels
6 cups - rice chex cereal
1/4 cup - water
2 cups - pecan halves

Preheat oven to 300°F. Melt caramels with water in 2 1/2-3qt saucepan over low heat, stirring frequently till smooth. Add cereal and pecans; mix lightly till well coated. Spread into greased 15" x 10" x 1" pan. Bake 25 minutes, stirring after 15 minutes. Turn out onto greased wax paper. Cool thoroughly. Break apart. Yield about 10 cups.

Recipe - Finger Jello

1 1/2 cups - jello
4 tbsp - unflavored gelatin
3 cups - boiling water
2 cups - cold water

Combine 1 cup cold water and gelatin. In separate bowl combine any flavor jello with boiling water. Add gelatin and rest of cold water. Pour into baking sheet and chill till set.

Recipe - Grandpa's Divinity Fudge

2 1/2 cups - sugar
1/2 cup - water
1 cup - walnut pieces
1/2 cup - light corn syrup
2 - egg whites
1 tsp - vanilla

Mix sugar, syrup and water and boil until, when dropped in cold water mixture will form a firm ball. Beat the egg whites stiff. Pour half the boiling mixture over egg whites, beating constantly. Return the remaining half of the mixture to stove and boil until, when dropped in cold water it forms a hard ball. Then remove from stove and pour slowly into the first half beating constantly. Add walnuts and vanilla, pour into a buttered pan and cut into squares.

Recipe - Hopscotch Candy

1/2 cup - peanut butter
1 cup - butterscotch chips

Combine in top of double boiler. Place over hot (not boiling) water until chips are melted. Stir until blended.

Add and stir until will coated:
2 cups - lachoy chow mein noodles
2 cups - miniature marshmallows

Drop by teaspoonfuls onto waxed paper lined cookie sheet. Chill until set.

Recipe - Jello Eggs

4 sm - boxes or 2 lg boxes jello (1/3 cup is one small box jello)
2 1/2 cups - boiling water

Mix jello and water until dissolved. Do not add cold water. Cool a little bit. Then pour in egg jello molds and let jello harden. Hint: Putting them somewhere where its cold will make them harden quicker. Flip eggs out and enjoy! Or Pour into a 9"x13" pan. Chill 3 hours and cut shape with cookie cutters. Hint: spray mold or pan with nonstick cooking spray so the jello wont stick.

Recipe - Mini Honey Popcorn Balls

3 qt - popped corn
1 1/2 cups - sugar
1/2 cup - honey
1 tsp - salt
3 tbsp - butter
1 tsp - vanilla

Put popped corn in lg bowl. Combine sugar, honey and salt in saucepan. Cook and stir till mixture boils, then boil to 260°. Add butter and vanilla. Pour over popped corn; toss carefully to coat popcorn. Drop by tbsp on foil. When cool, shape into small balls.

Simple Caramel Popcorn Balls
1/2 lb - caramels, unwrapped
2 tbsp - water
2 qt - popped corn

Heat caramels and water in top of double boiler, stirring now and then, till melted. Place popcorn in greased bowl and pour caramel mixture over it. Toss to coat. With greased hands, form balls. Wrap balls in plastic wrap.

Recipe - Mom's Holiday Party Mix

3 cups - Cheerios
1 1/4 cups - white chocolate
3 cups - Corn Chex
2 cups - pretzels
1 lb - M&M's

In a large bowl, mix cereal and pretzels. Add melted chocolate and mix. Add M&Ms and mix carefully. Spread out on wax paper until chocolate hardens. Break into pieces and store in tins. Raisins or nuts can be sustituted fo the M&Ms. Makes great gifts.

Arrange the chips on a large microwave safe plate. Put nacho cheese sauce and sour cream on top of the chips and top with salsa. Microwave 1-1 1/2 minutes or until hot.

Recipe - No Bake Party Mix

8 cups - crispix cereal
2 1/2 cups - miniature pretzels (or pretzel sticks)
2 1/2 cups - bite size cheddar cheese crackers
3 tbsp - vegetable oil
1 env - ranch salad dressing mix

In a large bowl combine crispix cereal, pretzels, and crackers. Drizzle with oil, mix gently. Sprinkle with dressing mix and mix again till well-coated. Store in an airtight container. Yield: about 12 cups.

4 tsp - seasoned salt

M&M`s

Melt:
4 sticks - margarine
Add:
1 1/4 cup - oil
1/2 cup - worcestershire sauce

Mix dry ingredients. Mix wet ingredients and add to dry ingredients, mixing well. Bake at 350° for 20 to 30 minutes. Note: Add M&M`s after it has cooled.

Recipe - Party Mix

1 pkg - alphabet pretzels

4 sticks - butter
1 1/4 cup - oil
1/2 cup - worcestershire sauce
4 tsp - seasoned salt
3 tsp - onion salt
pinch of salt

This is a large recipe. Mix all dry ingredients in a large trash bag. Divide evenly into 2 large and 1 smaller bowl. Seasoning will settle in bottom of bag. Try to even it out on the 3 bowls. Melt butter. Add oil and worcestershire sauce. Pour over all 3 bowls. Bake at 300° for 1 hour. Stir every 15 minutes.

1 box - ritz bits
1 1/2 cups - butter

1 tsp - onion powder
5 tbsp - worcestershire sauce
M&M's, optional

Mix butter and seasonings and pour over cereals, which have been mixed in a large bowl. Stir gently with a rubber spatula. Bake at 250° until dry, stirring every 15 minutes. When cooled mix in M&M's.

7 oz - Cheerios
7 oz - Rice Chex
7 oz - Wheat Chex

Mix well.

1/2 cup - melted margarine
2 tbsp - salt
1 1/2 cups - vegetable oil
2 tbsp - Worcestershire sauce

Pour over cereal. Bake in oven at 250° for an hour, stirring once. Add 7 oz pretzels and bake for 15 minutes. Then add 2 lbs peanuts and bake for 15 minutes longer.

Recipe - Pinwheel Finger Jello

3 oz - jello, any flavor
2 cups - mini marshmallows
3/4 cup - hot water

Spray an 8" square pan with cooking spray. Spread over sides and bottom with a paper towel. Mix jello and hot water until jello is dissolved. Add marshmallows and stir until marshmallows are mostly dissolved. Pour into pan and refrigerate till set. Loosen edges with knife and roll up like a jelly roll. Cut into slices.

1 1/3 cups - cold water

Pour in popsicle molds and when partially frozen put in popsicle sticks. Freeze and enjoy.

Recipe - Ranch Snack Pretzels

1 pkg - pretzels
1 pkg - dry ranch dressing mix
3/4 tsp - dill weed
1/4 tsp - garlic powder
3/4 cup - vegetable oil

Combine dressing mix to dill weed, garlic powder and oil. Pour over pretzels. Mix well until all pretzels are coated. Spread on cookie sheet and bake at 200° for 15 to 20 minutes. Stirring once or twice. Cool, then store in airtight container.

Melt butter and marshmallows together in double boiler. Stir in rice krispies. Press in buttered pan. Cut in desired sizes. Easy to make.

1 lb - M&M`s
1 cup - peanuts
1 cup - broken pretzel stix

Mix all of the ingredients except for the chocolate. Melt chocolate and coat the mixed ingredients. Once coated spread mixture out on wax paper until dry then break apart and put in a tightly sealed container.

Recipe - Strawberry Pudding Popsicles

1 (3.5oz) pkg - instant vanilla pudding
1 cup - milk
3 cups - whipped topping
2 cups - strawberries
1 cup - banana, mashed
paper cups and popsicle sticks

Beat together vanilla pudding and milk. Chill 5 minutes. Fold in whipped topping, strawberries and bananas. Spoon into 15 (5oz) paper drinking cups. Insert popsicle sticks. Freeze until firm. Remove from freezer, peel off paper and serve. Note: If the popsicle is held in you hand and warmed just a little, the popsicle will slide right out of cup. Serves 15.

Beat egg white until frosty, add combined sugar, salt and cinnamon to egg white. Fold in pecans. Bake 1 hour at 200°.

cook for 15 minutes. Add 1 envelope gelatin, softened in 1/4 cup cold water. Boil to 245°. Remove form heat and stir in paraffin the size of a walnut, cut in fine pieces. Quickly pour in 3 buttered pie pans. Pull when cool enough to handle. Have fun!

Recipe - Valentine Cut-Outs (finger jello)

2 pkg (6 oz) - each cherry or raspberry gelatin
1 pkg - instant vanilla pudding
1 1/2 - cups boiling water
1 cup - cold milk

In a bowl, dissolve gelatin in water; set aside for 30 minutes. In a small bowl, whisk milk and pudding mix until smooth, about 1 minute. Quickly pour gelatin, whisk until well blended. Pour into an oiled 9" x 13" x 2" dish. Chill until set. Cut into cubes or use a heart shaped cookie cutter.

3 cups - rice chex
3 cups - cheerios
1 cup - broken pretzel sticks
3 cups - corn chex
1 cup - peanuts

Mix ingredients. Stir in 1 1/4 lbs melted white chocolate. Then add 1 lb M&Ms peppermint candies. Spread out to dry. Break in pieces and store in tight container.

2 cups - dry roasted peanuts
1 1/4 lbs  - white dipping chocolate (melted)
4 cups - small pretzels
1 lb - M&Ms

Mix all ingredients and cover with white chocolate. Spread into cookie sheet and cool.

Recipe - Zesty Pretzels

2 (15 oz) bags - pretzel sticks
1 cup - vegetable oil
1 pkg - hidden valley ranch mix (dry)
1 tbsp - dill weed
3/4 tsp - garlic powder

Dip:
1 cup - sour cream
1 cup - miracle whip
2 tsp - garlic salt
1 tbsp - dill weed

Mix together ingredients and pour over pretzel sticks. Mix thoroughly. I stir them every so often since the oil wants to settle in the bottom. They get better as they set. It takes 2 to 4 hours to fully absorb the flavors. Store in a covered bowl. Delicious with dip.
