Recipe - Banana Chocolate Chip Bread

3 - medium ripe bananas, mashed
1/4 cup - butter, melted
1 - egg, slightly beaten
3 tbsp - sour milk
2 1/4 cup - flour
1/2 cup - sugar
1 tsp - baking soda
1 tsp - baking powder
1/2 tsp - salt
1 cup - chopped walnuts
1 cup - chocolate chips

Ingredients should be at room temperature. Mix all together. Stir well. Bake at 350° for 35 minutes in 3 small loaf pans.

Recipe - Bread That Stays Soft And Pliable
Our Price:  

1 sm - potato (cooked and mashed, save liquid)
1 cup - cooking oil
3/4 cup - sugar (or more)
3 tbsp - yeast
2 tbsp - salt
robin hood flour

Take the mashed potato and the liquid it was cooked in and add enough water to make 6 cups warm liquid. Add sugar, salt, oil, yeast and about 3 1/2 cups flour. Use beater or whisk to beat until smooth. Stir in more flour with spoon, then knead in enough flour for a nice dough. Not nesessary to knead it long, just until all the flour is mixed in. Let rise well, then work out and divide into loaves. Let rise again. Bake at 400° for 10 minutes, then at 350° for 20 minutes. Allow the dough to rest 15 minutes after it`s divided into loaves before shaping them.

1/4 cup - butter (melted)
1/4 cup - parmesan cheese
1 tbsp - garlic powder
1 tbsp - seasoned salt
1 cup - warm water
4 tbsp - oil
1 pkg - yeast
1 tbsp - white sugar
1/4 tsp - salt
2 1/2 to 3 cups - flour

Combine butter, cheese, garlic powder and seasoned salt. Set aside. Mix dough ingredients, then divide in 8 or more sections and place in strips on greased cookie sheet. Spread with oleo mixture. Bake at 350° for 15 to 20 minutes. Serve warm with pizza sauce.

Recipe - Brown Bread
Our Price:  

3/4 cup - sugar (half white, and half brown)
3/4 cup - thesco flour
1 tbsp - salt

Mix then add 3 cups warm water. Stir well and add 2 tbsp yeast. Let set till it starts to rise. Add 2 tbsp honey and 1/3 cup vegetable oil. Mix well. Add 3 cups whole wheat flour and 4 1/2 cups thesco flour. Set in warm place to rise for 1 hour, then knead. Do this 2 times then put in bread pans. Makes 4 loaves, let set for 1 hour. Bake for 25 minutes at 350°. Turn oven off and let bread in oven for 5 minutes. Put in bags before bread is completely cooled to keep it soft.

Recipe - Brown Bread

Soften 2 pkg dry yeast in 2 cups warm water, add 4 tbsp sugar, 4 tsp salt and 2 cups white flour. Stir till smooth let stand one hour. Mix 1/2 cup hot water and 1/2 cup oil. Stir to lukewater. Pour into mixture. Add 2 cups whole wheat flour and 3 cups white flour. Mix till smooth and no longer sticky. Use more flour if necessary. Let rise until double. Form into loaves and let rise again. Bake at 350° for 25 minutes.

Recipe - Brown Bread

2 cups - hot water
1 tbsp - sugar
2 cups - white flour
1/2 cup - oil
1/2 cup - sugar
3 cups - white flour
1 1/2 tbsp - yeast
2 tsp - salt
1/2 cup - hot water
1 tbsp - liquid lecthin
2 cups - whole wheat flour

Sprinkle yeast, salt and sugar over warm water. Let stand until yeast is dissolved. Beat in 2 cups white flour until smooth. Let stand 1 hour. Mix together water, sugar, oil and lecthin. Add to first mixture. Add rest until double. Put in 3 or 4 bread pans. Let rise again. Bake at 350°. This recipe can be used for all whole wheat flour for those who grind their own wheat.

Recipe - Butter Crescents (Light Wheat)
Our Price:  

1/2 cup - milk
1/2 cup - butter (softened)
1/3 cup - white sugar
1/2 tsp - salt
1 pkg - active dry yeast
1/2 cup - warm water (105°-115°F)
1 - large egg (lightly beaten)
2 1/2 to 3 cups - all purpose flour
1 cup - wheat flour

Glaze:
1 - large egg (lightly beaten)

Heat milk until bubbles appear around the edgse. Combine butter, sugar and salt. Add hot milk. Cool to lukewarm 95°-100°F. Dissolve yeast in warm water, let stand till foamy 5-10 minutes. Beat yeast mixture and egg into milk mixture at low speed. Beat in 2 cups flour until smooth and thick. Add rest of flour and knead very gently till smooth and elastic, 2-3 minutes. Let rise in a greased bowl until double, 1 hour. Punch down dough. On a floured surface, divide dough in half. Cover with damp cloth. Let rise for 10 minutes. Roll each half into 12" circle. Cut circle into 8" wedges. Starting at side opposite point, roll up each wedge. Place, point side down on a greased baking sheet. Curve ends to form crescents. Cover loosely with damp cloth, let rise till almost doubled, 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 375°. Brush crescents with glaze. Bake until golden, 15 minutes. Cool on wire rack.

Recipe - Butter Horns

1 cake - yeast
1/2 tsp - salt
1 cup - lukewarm water
Mix these together, let set for a few minutes. Then add:
1/2 cup - sugar
3 - eggs (beaten)
1/2 cup - oleo or butter
4 1/2 cups - flour

Mix and let stand in refrigerator overnight or several hours. Then divide dough into 4 parts and roll out like a pie crust, cut into 8 pieces. Bake 8-10 minutes at 375.

4 1/2 cups - bread flour

Mix and let set overnight in refrigerator. Then divide into 4 parts, roll out like pie dough (in circle). Cut 8 pie shape pieces. Roll each side starting outside edge inward. Rise 2 hours. Bake 8-10 minutes at 375°. Brush melted butter over top, once out of oven.

Recipe - Buttery Corn Bread

2/3 cup - butter or margarine (softened)
1 cup - sugar
3 - eggs
1 2/3 cup - milk
2 1/3 cups - all purpose flour
1 cup - cornmeal
4 1/2 tsp - baking powder
1 tsp - salt

In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Combine the eggs and milk. Combine flour, cornmeal, baking powder and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with egg mixture. Pour into a greased 13x9x2 baking pan. Bake at 400° for 22-27 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cut into squares; serve warm. Yield: 12-15 servings.

Recipe - Cheese Garlic Biscuits

2 c - Bisquick
2/3 c - milk
1/2 c - shredded cheddar cheese
Topping:
1/4 c  - margarine, melted
1/2 tsp - garlic powder

Preheat oven to 450°. Combine the first 3 ingredients until soft dough forms. Drop dough by heaping tablespoonfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes or until golden brown. Combine topping ingredients. Brush over warm biscuits. Serve warm. Yield: 10-12 biscuits.

Recipe - Cheesy Biscuits

2 c - flour
3 tsp - baking powder
1 tsp - salt
1 c - butter, melted
1 c - sour cream
1 c - shredded cheese

Combine all ingredients in bowl until well blended. Using cookie scoop or spoon, drop onto greased cookie sheets. Bake at 350° for 20-25 minutes. Serve warm. Yield: 2 dozen.

Recipe - Coffee Raisin Bread

3/4 cup - raisins
1 tbsp + 3 cups - bread flour, divided
1 cup - strong, brewed coffee (warm)
3 tbsp - vegetable oil
1 - egg, lightly beaten
1 1/2 tsp - salt
3 tsp - sugar
1 tsp - cinnamon
2 1/2 tsp - yeast

Toss the raisins with 1 tbsp flour; set aside. Mix the dry ingredients. Add the coffee, oil and egg. Mix well. Add flour and raisins. Knead; let rise. Form loaf. Bake at 350° for 25-30 minutes. This is really good toasted and spread with soft cream cheese. Cut in fancy shapes for coffee or tea. Spread with cream cheese. Garnish with a mint leaf or dill sprig.

Recipe - Corn Bread

1 1/8 cup - yellow cornmeal
3 tsp - baking powder
2 - egg yolks (well beaten)
1/3 cup - maple syrup
1 1/2 cup - whole wheat
1/8 tsp - salt
1 cup - cream
3 tbsp - butter (melted)

Mix all ingredients together. Pour into pan and bake at 350° for 25 minutes.

Recipe - Corn Bread

1 2/3 cups - all purpose flour (sifted)
1 1/2 tsp - salt
1 1/3 cups - yellow corn meal
1 cup - milk
1/2 cup - sugar
2 tbsp - baking powder
2 - eggs (beaten)
1/2 cup - shortening (melted)

Sift toether flour, sugar, salt and baking powder into mixing bowl. In small bowl combine eggs, milk and shortening. Add to the cornmeal mixture. Beat only until smooth. Bake at 350° for 15 to 20 minutes.

Recipe - Cornbread

1c cornmeal
¾ c all-purpose flour
1T sugar
1 ½ t baking powder
½ t baking soda
¼ t salt
2 lg eggs, lightly beaten
1 ½ c buttermilk
6T butter

Mix together, first 6 ingredients. Add; last 3 ingredients, mix…. Bake in 8x8 pan, at 425 for 20 to 25 min.
COOL…Brush melted butter on top if you like. Serve with soup or crumble onto a salad.

Recipe - Cranberry Oat Bread

1 cup - warm water
1 tbsp - margarine
2 tbsp - honey
3/4 tsp - salt
1/2 tsp - cinnamon
1 3/4 tsp - yeast
1/3 cup - oatmeal
1/2 cup - dried cranberries

Mix the ingredients and add 2 1/2 cups bread flour. Let rise twice. Form loaf. Let rise and bake at 350° for 25 minutes or until done.

Recipe - Date Nut Bread

2 cups - chopped dates
2 tsp - soda
2 cups - boiling water
3 tbsp - oleo (melted)
1 1/2 cups - sugar
2 - eggs
2 tsp - vanilla
3 cups - flour
1 cup - chopped nuts

Mix together dates, soda and boiling water. When cooled add the rest of ingredients. Pour into 2 greased bread pans. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes or till tested done.

Add:
3/4 cup - sugar
1 tbsp - salt
1 stick - oleo
2 - eggs
Cool to lukewarm

Add:
2 pkg - yeast
Let set 10 minutes

Add:
3 cups - donut mix
6 cups - flour

Let rise once. Punch down. Let rise again. Make into buns. Let rise again. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes.

Recipe - Dutch Dinner Rolls
Our Price:  

2 cups - hot water
1 tbsp - salt
1/4 cup - water
2 - eggs (beaten)
8 cups - flour
1/4 cup - shortening or vegetable oil
1/2 cup - sugar
2 tbsp - dry yeast
1 tsp - sugar

Stir together, then cool, water, oil, salt and 1/2 cup sugar. Beat in 1/4 cup water, yeast, eggs, sugar and flour. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Work down if dough rises substantially. Shape dough into small buns (the size of walnuts) 3 1/2 hours before serving. The dough will be a bit sticky but don`t add much additional flour. Oil the counter and your hands if dough is hard to handle. Place buns 1 1/2" apart on baking sheet. Brush tops with oil if desired. Let buns rise, then bake at 350° for 15-20 minutes.

Recipe - Easy Dinner Rolls

1 cup - milk
2 tbsp - oleo or butter

Bring to a boil then pour over:
2 tbsp - white sugar
1 tsp - salt
Add:
1/4 cup - warm water

Let cool then add:
1 - egg (beaten)
1 tbsp - yeast
1 cup - bread flour

Let set until bubbly. Work in 2 1/2 cups flour. Let raise once then work out for dinner rolls. Perfer 1 cup whole wheat flour and not so much white flour. Do not make dough to stiff. Bake at 350° till slightly brown.

Recipe - Flavorful Herb Bread

3 tbsp - instant yeast
1 1/2 cups - milk
6 tbsp - butter
1/2 cup - sugar
3 tbsp - dried parsley
4 1/2 tsp - dried basil
1 1/2 tsp - oregano (dried)
1 1/2 tsp - thyme (dried)
3/4 tsp - garlic powder
7-8 cups - thesco flour
1 1/2 cups - lukewarm water
1/2 tsp - salt

Heat milk & butter - cool to lukewarm. Add yeast to 4 cups flour - add rest of flour to ingredients. Beat flour mixture, milk & butter and water togther. Add rest of flour to make a soft dought. Knead until smooth and elastic about 6-8 minutes. Form into loaves and let rise until double. Bake at 350° for 30-40 minutes until nice and brown.

Recipe - Garlic Bread

1 - frozen loaf (thawed or your own)
1 tbsp - parsley
1 tsp - garlic powder
1/4 cup - butter (melted)
1/4 tsp - garlic salt

Cut bread up in 1" pieces roll in butter and seasonings. Arrange in a greased pan. Let rise. Bake at 350° till done 1/2 hour or so.

Recipe - Golden Honey Pan Roll

1 cup - milk (70° to 80°)
1 - egg
1 - egg yolk
1/2 cup - vegetable oil
2 tbsp - honey
1 1/2 tsp - salt
3 1/2 cups - bread flour
2 1/4 tsp - active dry yeast

Glaze:
1/3 cup - sugar
2 tbsp - butter or margarine (melted)
1 tbsp - honey
1 - egg whites

Mix first eight ingredients. Let rise two times, punch down two times. Divide into 24 pieces. Shape each into balls; place 12 balls each in two greased 8" baking pans. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 30 minutes. For glaze: Combine sugar, butter, honey and egg whites. Drizzle over dough. Bake at 350° for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Brush with honey, if desired. Yield: 2 dozen.
