Recipe - 7 Layer Salad
Our Price:  

1 - head lettuce
15 oz - frozen peas
3/4 lb - shredded cheddar cheese
1 med - onion
1 lb - fried bacon
8 - hard-boiled eggs

Dressing:
3 cups - miracle whip
1/4 cup - milk
1/2 cup - sugar

Put in pan in layers listed. Put dressing on top when ready to serve.

Recipe - 7 Layer Salad

1 1/2 head - lettuce, finely chopped
grated cheese
1 med - onion, finely chopped
4 - hard boiled eggs, chopped
1 cup - peas
1 lb - bacon, fried, drained and crumbled

Dressing
3 cups - miracle whip
1/2 cup - sugar

Combine above ingredients in layers in order given. Pour dressing over salad. Do not mix. Refrigerate.

Recipe - Apple-Cranberry Salad
Our Price:  

6 oz pkg - strawberry or raspberry gelatin mix
1 cup - boiling water
16 oz can - whole cranberry sauce
16 oz can - crushed pineapple
1 - red apple, cored and diced
1/4 cup - chopped nuts
1/4 cup - golden raisins

Dissolve gelatin in boiling water. Add cranberry sauce and stir until berries are separated. Add remaining ingredients; chill until set. Makes 12 servings.

Recipe - Autumn Apple Salad
Our Price:  

1-20 oz can - crushed pineapples
1/2 c - sugar
1-3 oz box - lemon Jell-O
1-8 oz - cream cheese
1 c - diced, unpeeled red apples
1/2-1 c - chopped nuts
1/2 c - cut-up celery
1 c - whipped topping
lettuce leaves

In a saucepan combine pineapples with juice and sugar. Add cream cheese and Jell-O and stir with wire whisk until mixture is thoroughly combined. Cool. Fold in apples, nuts, celery and whipped topping. Pour in 9" square pan. Chill until firm and cut into squares and serve on lettuce leaves. Serves 6 people.

Recipe - Autumn Chopped Salad
Our Price:  

8 cups - romaine, chopped
2 medium - pears, chopped
1 cup - dried cranberries
1 cup - pecans, chopped
8 slices - bacon, cooked and crumbled
6 ounzes - feta cheese, crumbled
3/4 cup - poppy seed dressing
1/4 cup - balsamic vinaigrette

Combine first 6 ingredients. Drizzle with the dressings just before serving. Serves 6.

Recipe - Bean Salad
Our Price:  

1 can - yellow beans, drained
1 can - green beans, drained
1 can - red kidney beans, rinsed
sm sliced onion
3/4 cup - sugar
2/3 cup - vinegar
1/3 cup - salad oil
1 tsp - salt
1 tbsp - celery seed
1/2 tsp - pepper

Arrange beans and onion in bowl. Mix together rest of ingredients and pour over beans. Allow to marinate overnight.

Recipe - Broccoli and Cauliflower Salad
Our Price:  

4 head - broccoli
2 head - cauliflower
2 lbs - bacon
2 lbs - shredded cheddar cheese

Dressing:
3 cups - miracle whip
1 tsp - salt
1 3/4 cup - sugar
3/4 pkg - hidden valley ranch dip mix
3 cups - sour cream

Chop broccoli and cauliflower into bite sized pieces, do not chop too fine! Fry bacon until crisp. Mix broccoli, cauliflower, bacon and cheese together. Mix dressing ingredients together until creamy. Just before serving pour dressing over broccoli mixture. This is a large batch, it will serve approximately 35.

Recipe - Broccoli Salad

1 - head broccoli, cut up
1 med - onion, diced
2 cups - shredded cheddar cheese
1 - head cauliflower, cut up
6-12 - strips bacon, fried and crumbled

Sauce:
3/4 cup - sour cream
3/4 cup - mayonnaise
1/2 cup - sugar
1/4 tsp - salt

Mix sauce ingredients real well. Pour over broccoli mixture. Can be made a day ahead.

Recipe - Candy Corn Marshmallow Treats
Our Price:  

1/4 cup - butter
6 cups - miniature marshmallows
12 drops - yellow food coloring
4 drops - red food coloring
6 cups - rice crispy cereal
2 cups - candy corn

Microwave butter on high 45 seconds or until melted. Add marshmallows; toss to coat. Microwave 1 1/2 minutes or until marshmallows are completely melted and mixture is well blended; stir in food coloring after 45 seconds. Add cereal and candy corn; mix well. Press into a 13x9-inch pan sprayed with cooking spray. Cool completely before cutting into bars. Makes 24 bars. Note: Food coloring is optional. And spreading melted chocolate on top after they are pressed in pan makes them delicious!

Recipe - Chicken Almond Salad

3 cups - chicken or turkey
2 cups - cabbage, shredded
3/4 cup - celery, diced
1/4 cup - green onion, chopped
1 pkg - ramen noodles
1/2 cup - slivered almonds, toasted

Dressing:
2/3 cup - mayonnaise or salad dressing
1 tbsp - milk
2 tsp - mustard
1 1/2 tsp - sugar
1/2 tsp - salt
1/4 tsp - pepper

Cook chicken or leftover turkey (chopped). Mix first 4 ingredients; add dressing and toss together. Just before serving, add ramen noodles and almonds. Serves 4-6 people.

Recipe - Chicken Lettuce Salad

1 head - lettuce, chopped
4-5 cups - chicken breast, cooked and cubed
2 tbsp - almonds, toasted
2 tbsp - sunflower seeds
1 bag - potato chips (Miss Vickies or hard chips)

Dressing:
1/4 cup - sugar
1 tsp - salt
2 tsp - accent
1 tsp - pepper
1/2 cup - oil
6 tbsp - vinegar
desired amount of green onion

Mix dressing in blender. Toss everything  together. Enjoy!

Recipe - Chicken Salad

1- 8 oz can crushed pineapple
1/2 cup - chopped walnuts
1/2 cup - Hellmans real mayonnaise
1/2 cup - chopped celery
1 1/2 cups - cooked chicken, diced

Mix together and serve on your choice of bread. Pita pocket bread is good with this.

Recipe - Chicken Salad
Our Price:  

2 cups - chopped cooked chicken breast
1/2 cup - celery
2 tbsp - sugar
1 tbsp - mustard
mayonnaise

Chop chicken to your liking. Add celery and mix. Stir in mustard and sugar. Add enough mayonnaise to moisten salad. Refrigerate until serving. Great as a sandwich or as a salad on lettuce.

3 cups - sour cream
1 tsp - salt
3/4 pkg - hidden valley ranch dip mix

Recipe - Cole Slaw (can be frozen)
Our Price:  

1 lg - head cabbage
2 cups - white sugar
1/2 cup - chopped onions
1/2 cup - diced celery
1 tsp - celery seed
1 - green pepper
1/2 tsp - mustard seed
2 tsp - salt
1/2 cup - vinegar

Mix, let stand overnight. Put in glass jars and seal, put in freezer.

Recipe - Colorful Vegetable Salad

6 c - broccoli florets
6 c - cauliflower
2 c - cherry tomatoes, halved
1 - large red onion,sliced
1 can - ripe olives, sliced
Dressing:
1 envelope - Ranch salad dressing mix
2/3 c - vegetable oil
1/4 c - vinegar

In a large bowl, toss the broccoli, cauliflower, tomatoes, onion and olives. Dressing: In a jar with lid combine dressing mix, oil and vinegar. Shake well. Pour over salad and toss. Refrigerate for 3 hours before serving. This is our favorite salad. Yield: 10-15 servings.

Recipe - Corn Chip Salad

2 cups - cheese, shredded
6 - hard boiled eggs
6 cups - corn chips, crushed

Dressing:
1 1/4 cups - miracle whip
3 tbsp - vinegar
1/3 cup - sugar
1/3 cup - brown sugar

Mix dressing ingredients. Just before serving, pour dressing over lettuce and other ingredients and stir well.

Recipe - Cornbread Salad
Our Price:  

8 1/2 oz - corn bread/muffin mix
4 oz - chopped green chilies, undrained
1/8 tsp - cumin
1/8 tsp - dried oregano
pinch rubbed sage
1 cup - mayonnaise
1 cup - sour cream
1 env - ranch salad dressing
3 med - tomatoes, diced
1 cup - diced green pepper
1 cup - chopped onion
2 (15oz) cans - pinto beans, rinsed and drained
2 (15 1/4oz) cans - whole kernel corn, drained
10 strips - bacon, fried and crumbled
2 cups - cheddar cheese

Prepare corn bread batter according to package directions. Stir in chilies, cumin, oregano and sage. Bake at 400° for 20-25 minutes in an 8" square pan. Cool. Combine mayonnaise, sour cream and dressing mix, Set aside. Crumble half of corn bread into a 9"x13" dish. Layer with half of beans, mayonnaise mixture, corn, tomatoes, pepper, onion, bacon and cheese. Repeat layers. Dish will be very full. Cover and refrigerate.

Recipe - Creamy Cucumber Salad

1/2 c - plain yogurt or mayonnaise

1/2 tsp - salt
1/4 tsp - dried dill weed
1/8 tsp - pepper
2 med - cucumbers, thinly sliced
1 sm - onion, thinly sliced and separated into rings

Mix all ingredients. Cover and refrigerate at least 4 hours. Yield: 7 servings.

Recipe - Creamy Orange Fruit Salad

1 (20 oz.) - pineapple tidbits
1 (16 oz.) can - peach slices
1 can - mandarin oranges
2 - bananas
1 - apple, chopped
grapes
Sauce:
1 pkg - instant vanilla pudding
1 1/2 c - milk
1/3 c - orange juice concentrate
3/4 c - sour cream

Drain the pineapple, peaches, and oranges. Combine the fruit. Blend together pudding mix, milk, and orange juice. Add sour cream and mix with fruit.

Recipe - Crescent Roll Salad
Our Price:  

2 (8 oz.) pkgs - crescent rolls
Bake crescent rolls on a 10x15 pan, according to package directions.

1 (16 oz.) container - sour cream
1 (8 oz.) pkg - cream cheese
1 pkg - ranch dressing mix
Mix together and spread on crust.

1 1/2 lb - ground beef
1 pkg - taco seasoning
1 (16 oz.) can - salsa
Fry hamburger and add taco seasoning. Put beef on top, then top with salsa.

1 pkg - shredded cheese
Add lettuce, chips and cheese. You can also add mushrooms, tomatoes, etc.

Recipe - Crunchy Romaine Salad

1 pkg - ramen noodles, broken
1 cup - pecans, coarsely chopped
1 head - romaine lettuce
cauliflower
tomatoes
cheddar cheese, shredded
1 lb - bacon, cut up and fried
1 - green pepper
fresh strawberries, sliced

Dressing:
3/4 cup - oil
1 cup - white sugar
1/3 cup - red wine vinegar
1 pkg - chicken flavoring, from ramen noodles

Fry ramen noodles and pecans in butter until toasted. Cool. Cut up lettuce, cauliflower and tomatoes. Add cheese, bacon and pepper. Before serving, toss with dressing, noodles, pecans and strawberries.

Recipe - Cucumber Salad
Our Price:  

4 - cucumbers, thinly sliced or diced
1 tsp - salt, divided
1 med - onion, chopped
2 med - tomatoes, chopped

Dressing:
1/4 cup - vinegar
2 tbsp - vegetable oil
1 tbsp - honey
1/2 tsp - celery salt
1/2 tsp - basil
1/2 tsp - ground mustard
1/4 tsp - garlic powder
1/4 tsp - oregano
dash of cayenne pepper

Sprinkle cucumbers with 1/2 tsp salt; toss and let set 30 minutes. Rinse and drain well. Add onion and tomatoes. Mix dressing ingredients, add and toss. Refrigerate 1 to 2 hours before serving. Serves 10-12

Recipe - Dandelion Salad
Our Price:  

4 cups - fresh tender and young dandelion greens
1 head - romaine lettuce
1/4 cup - raspberry vinegar
1/4 cup - virgin olive oil
dash of pepper and salt

Add whatever you wish of the following:
(1/4 to 1/2 cup)
tomatoes
celery
carrots
peppers
onions
bacon
hard boiled eggs
mandarin oranges
mozzarella cheese

Cut up salad ingredients and toss together. Mix together vinegar, olive oil, salt and pepper. You can add some sugar yet if desired accordingly to your taste. Just mix together whatever you like on you salad with the lettuce and dandelion greens. And just how you like the amounts of the ingredients too. Then make enough dressing to well coat your salad. Mix dressing and salad together just before serving. You may use the dandelion flowers too in the salad as a garnish. They can be eaten as well. Be sure to rinse well before eating. Or just add some dandelion greens or flowers to your favorite salad recipe for a different twist and flavor. Enjoy!
