Bake at 375° for about 10 minutes. Makes 112 cookies.

1 cup - butter or margarine
1 cup - vegetable oil
1 cup - white sugar
1 cup - powdered sugar
2 - eggs
1 tsp - vanilla
4 1/2 cups -flour
1 tsp - baking soda
1 tsp - cream of tartar

Cream butter, oil and sugars, Beat in eggs and vanilla. Stir in dry ingredients. Bake at 375° for 8-10 minutes.

1/2 cup - butter
1/2 cup - shortening
1/2 cup - brown sugar
1/2 cup - white sugar
1 - egg
1 tsp - vanilla
2 1/2 cups - flour
1 tsp - soda
1 tsp - cream of tartar
1/2 tsp - salt
1/2 cup - chocolate chips

Cream the first five ingredients together. Add remaining ingredients, mix well. Roll into 1 1/2" balls. Dip top half in cold water, then into sugar. Bake on greased cookie sheet for 10-12 minutes. Yield 3 dozen.

5 cups - white sugar
3 cups - lard
4 - eggs
3 cups - milk
6 tsp - baking powder
3 tsp - soda

Mix together. Add flour till thick enough. Anise flavoring till it has enough flavor. Bake at 350° till done.

Recipe - Banana Whoopie Pies

1 1/2 cups - brown sugar
1 cup - shortening
2 - eggs
2 cups - mashed bananas
1 tsp - soda
1 tsp - vanilla
3 1/2 cups - flour
1 tsp - salt
1 tsp - baking powder
1 tsp - cinnamon

Mix all together, then drop by teaspoonful onto cookie sheet. Bake at 350° for 10 minutes. When cool, sandwich together with the following icing:

Icing:
1 - beaten egg white
2 tbsp - flour
1 tbsp - milk
1 cup - powdered sugar
1 tsp - vanilla
1/2 cup - crisco
1 cup - powdered sugar

Cream together first 5 ingredients, then add shortening and the additional powdered sugar.

Recipe - Big Soft Sugar cookies

3 cups - sugar
2 cups - crisco oil
4 - eggs
2 cups - buttermilk
2 tsp - baking soda
6 cups - (heaping) flour
3/4 tsp - salt
6 tsp - baking powder
3 tsp - vanilla
1 tsp - lemon extract
sugar

Beat sugar, oil and eggs with mixer 5 minutes. Add buttermilk and soda. Beat 5 more minutes. Add dry ingredients and vanilla. Batter will be a little thicker than cake batter. Put a big tbsp of batter on cookie sheet. Sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 425° for 7 minutes or until golden. Makes 4 dozen lg cookies.

Recipe - Bushel Cookies

12 - eggs
5 cups - lard
4 lbs - sugar (2 lbs white and 2 lbs brown)
1 lb - molasses
6 tbsp - soda
6 tbsp - baking soda
2 lbs - raisins and 1 lb salted peanuts ground together
1 tbsp - vanilla
1 tbsp - lemon juice
3 tsp - salt
2 lbs - quick oats
6 lbs - flour

Mix in order given and drop by spoonfuls on greased and floured cookie sheets. Bake in 375°-400° oven until browned. Makes almost a bushel of cookies.

Recipe - Butter Cookies (cut-outs)

1 lb - butter
3 1/2 cups - powdered sugar
1 tsp - soda dissolved in 4 tbsp sour cream
4 - eggs
1 tsp - vanilla
1/2 tsp - salt
5 cups - flour

Mix and chill overnight. roll out on floured surface about 1/4" thick. Remove from oven when slightly brown underneath. Important Not to Overbake. Bake at 350°.

Recipe - Butter Pecan Turtle Cookies

2 cups - flour
1 cup - brown sugar
3/4 cup - soft oleo

Caramel Layer:
2/3 cup - real butter
1/2 cup - brown sugar
1 cup - whole pecans
1 cup - chocolate chips

Mix crust and pat in 9x13. Sprinkle pecans evenly over crust. For caramel layer, cook butter and sugar together over medium heat, stirring constantly. Boil for 1/2 to 1 minute. Pour over crust and pecans. Bake at 350° for 18-22 minutes. Take out when caramel layer is bubbly and crust is golden brown. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Cool completely and cut.

1 box - instant vanilla pudding
1/4 tsp - salt
5 cups - flour

Mix all ingredients. Bake at 350° till done. Note: you can use whatever flavor cake mix that you prefer.

2 tsp - soda
2 tsp - vanilla

Filling:
1/2 cup - brown sugar
1/2 cup - butter
1/8 cup - milk
2 cups - powdered sugar

Mix in order given. Shape dough into rolls. Let set overnight. Cut in slices and bake at 350°. Put filling between cookies. Filling: melt butter, add brown sugar on low heat stirring constantly about 4 minutes. Add milk, stir until mixture comes to boil. Remove from heat. Slowly add powdered sugar, beating till smooth.

1 cup + 1 tbsp - all purpose flour, divided
1 cup - quick oats
3/4 cup - packed brown sugar
1/2 tsp - baking soda
1/4 tsp - salt
3/4 cup - butter or margarine, melted
1 cup (6 oz) - semisweet chocolate chips
1 jar (12 1/4 oz) - caramel ice cream topping
1/2 cup - chopped walnuts

In a bowl, combine 1 cup of flour, oats, brown sugar, baking soda and salt. Stir in butter; mix well. Press into a greased 13x9x2 baking pan. Bake at 350° for 10 minutes or until set. Sprinkle with chocolate chips. Combine caramel topping and remaining flour until blended; drizzle over chips. Sprinkle with nuts. Bake 20-22 minutes longer or until bubbly. Cool completely; cut into bars. Yield: 3 dozen.

Recipe - Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

1 cup - butter or margarine (softened)
3/4 cup - brown sugar
1/4 cup - sugar
1 pkg - instant vanilla pudding mix
2 - eggs
1 tsp - vanilla
2 1/4 cups - all purpose flour
1 tsp - baking soda
1/2 cup - crushed heath bar

In a mixing bowl, cream butter, sugars and pudding mix. Add eggs and vanilla, beat well. Combine flour and baking soda; gradually add to the creamed mixture. Stri in chocolate chips, and heath bar crumbs. Drop by rounded tsp onto baking sheet. Bake at 350° for 10 - 12 minutes.

Recipe - Chocolate Bliss Bites

1/2 cup - cocoa
pinch of salt
1/2 cup - sugar, divided
3 - egg whites
1/8 tsp - cream of tartar
1 tsp - vanilla
1 tbsp - powdered sugar

Preheat oven to 300°. Line 2 baking sheets with foil. In a small bowl, sift together cocoa, salt and 1/4 cup sugar. In a large bowl, beat the egg whites and cream of tartar until soft peaks form. Beat in the remaining 1/4 cup sugar, 1/2 tbsp at a time, until meringue is glossy and stiff peaks form. Fold in the cocoa mixture and vanilla. Drop by rounded teaspoonsful about 1" apart on prepared baking sheets. Bake 25 minutes for soft, chewy cookies or 40 minutes for crisp ones. Dust the cooled cookies with powdered sugar. Yield: 24-30 cookies.

Recipe - Chocolate Caramel Thumbprints

2 cups - butter, softened
2 1/3 cups - sugar
4 - eggs, separated
1/2 cup - milk
4 tsp - vanilla
4 1/2 cups - flour
1 cup - cocoa
1/2 tsp - salt
chopped nuts

Filling:
48 - caramels
6 tbsp - heavy whipping cream

Icing:
1 cup - chocolate chips
3 tsp - shortening

Mix all together except egg whites and nuts. Roll into balls. Beat egg whites until stiff. Dip ball in egg whites the chopped nuts. Put on cookie sheet. Make a thumbprint in cookie. Bake at 350° for about 10 minutes. Filling: Melt together caramels and whipping cream and put in thumbprint. Icing: Melt chocolate chips and shortening. Drizzle over caramel.

Recipe - Chocolate Caramel Thumbprints

1/2 cup - butter (no substitutes)
2/3 cup - sugar
1 - egg (separated)
2 tbsp - milk
1 tsp - vanilla
1 cup - flour
1/3 cup - cocoa
1/4 tsp - salt
1 cup - pecans (finely chopped)

Filling:
12 to 14 - caramels
3 tbsp - heavy whipping cream
1/2 cup - chocolate chips
1 tsp - shortening

Cream butter and sugar. Beat in egg yolk, milk and vanilla. Combine flour, cocoa and salt, add to creamed mixture. Refrigerate. Roll into 1 in balls. Beat egg white. Dip in egg white then roll into crushed pecans. Place 2 inches apart on cookie sheet. with a small spoon make an indentation in center. Bake at 350° for 10-12 minutes or until set. Meanwhile in a heavy saucepan melt carmels with cream over low heat. After cookies come out of oven, fill each cookie with caramel. Melt chocolate chips and shortening. Drizzle over cookies.

Filling:
Beat 2 egg whites add 2 tsp, vanilla, 2 cups powdered sugar and 4 tbsp milk. Beat thoroughly, add 2 more cups powdered sugar and 1 cup Crisco. Spread between 2 cookies.
