Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Local Ground Beef

  • 12 oz WC Meltz Cheesy

  • 4 - 6 oz Provolone cheese, chopped or torn into pieces

  • 1 lg Sweet Onion, diced

  • 1 lg Green Bell Pepper, diced

  • 1 small Red Bell Pepper, diced, optional

  • 8 oz Mushrooms, chopped, optional but recommended

  • 2 T Butter

  • 1 T Oil

  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced

  • ¾ - 1c Beef Broth

  • 2 T Worcestershire Sauce

  • 1 T Steak Seasoning

  • 1 tsp Dijon Mustard

  • ½ tsp Garlic Powder

  • ½ tsp Black Pepper

  • Salt as needed

Directions

  1. Melt the butter in the skillet. Add the onion, green pepper, red pepper, and mushrooms. Sauté for 8 - 10 minutes, until tender and beginning to brown

  2. Add the garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.
Tip: Don’t overcook the peppers. Leaving them with a little texture makes the finished dip much better

  3. Add the ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess grease.

  4. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, steak seasoning, Dijon mustard, garlic powder and black pepper. Cook for another 1 - 2 minutes. Reduce the heat.

  5. Add 3/4 c. beef broth and the cubed Meltz Cheesy. Stir until the cheese is melted and smooth.

  6. Add the provolone and stir until melted. If necessary, add a little additional beef broth until the mixture is creamy.

  7. Taste and adjust the seasoning. If the mixture becomes too thick while stirring, mix in a small amount of warm beef broth.

  8. Serve with tortilla chips, bread, or crackers
