Description
Cheddar Broccoli and Rice is a traditional side dish favorite! Combining creamy cheddar cheese and broccoli gives this rice a flavor that is hard to resist. Try adding browned hamburger to the prepared rice to create a classic cheeseburger-like meal that is sure to be a hit.
Directions: In a saucepan, bring 2 cups water to a boil. Add 1⅓ cups rice blend, stir and return to a boil. Cook and stir for 1 minute. Remove from heat, cover and let steam for 8-12 minutes. Fluff with a fork and serve. Optional: Add 1 Tbsp butter or oil to water before rice blend.
Serving tips: Chunks of ham, cooked chicken, or turkey may be added at the end of the steaming time to make a delicious one-dish meal.
